The uttp (or UTTP) is a group of Internet users, some on YouTube, that polices the conduct of others, mostly users who are part of online fandoms. They are a controversial group that considers themselves anti-trolls but ironically also employ trolling tactics when policing others.
While they have no actual jurisdiction, uttp members take it upon themselves to "arrest" users they classify as trolls or part of a fandom they deem annoying by confronting them or raiding them with other uttp members (usually by blasting them with annoying comments or reporting them to get them blocked or banned). Some fandoms they may go after include K-pop, Minecraft, Roblox, The Amazing World of Gumball, Fortnite, My Little Pony, and PewDiePie.
Origin of uttp
Thomas Parkinson (better known as Tommy Parky) is recognized as the creator of the UTubeTrollPolice channel on YouTube in 2011. It initially began as an anti-troll endeavor. However, as other users joined the "movement," it spilled out to other online spaces, like social sites and forums, and morphed into a predominantly "anti-fandom" movement. Also, as the movement grew, users began referring to UTubeTrollPolice as "uttp" to save time and characters when typing online.
