TVT

What does TvT stand for in StarCraft 2?

Terran versus Terran

StarCraft 2 (SC2) players use TvT to stand for Terran versus Terran. This acronym describes a mirror match between two Terran players.

In SC2 PvP (not to be confused with Protoss versus Protoss) games, players pick from one of the game's three races and attempt to defeat their opponent. The Terrans are SC2's human race. They are the most flexible race, able to easily pivot between offensive and defensive strategies as needed.

That flexibility leads many players to want to play as the Terrans, which in turn creates a lot of TvT matches. Over the years, the TvT matchup has been "solved" many times, but players continue to find interesting wrinkles that make this mirror match exciting.

Example

TvT matches are so boring because all players do is create siege tanks and missile turrets, sit back, and turtle all day
You obviously didn't see the recent TvT match between Maru and Cure
Some players hate TvT matches
