PVP

1. What does PvP stand for in online gaming?

Player versus player

PvP games are those in which players play against other players, rather than a game's AI and NPCs. Some games include both player versus computer (PVC) and player versus player modes, while others include only one or the other.

Many PvP games pit players against each other in deathmatches (DMs). Others force players to conquer other players' territory and/or defend their own. Some popular online PvP games include League of Legends (LoL), Call of Duty (CoD), Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Fortnite, Hearthstone, and Civilization.

2. What does PvP stand for in StarCraft 2?

Protoss versus Protoss

StarCraft 2 (SC2) players sometimes use PvP to stand for Protoss versus Protoss. This acronym describes a mirror match between two Protoss players.

In SC2 player versus player (confusingly, also abbreviated PvP) games, players pick from one of the game's three races and attempt to defeat their opponent. The Protoss are a race of psionic aliens who hail from the jungle planet Aiur. They have the most advanced technology of all the SC2 races.

PvP matches are often decided in the early game, as a player who can snipe a few of their opponent's early units can quickly gain an army and economic lead. This lead can snowball into a quick victory if the opponent doesn't recover and build wisely during the mid game.

Example

I prefer to go for Dark Templar rush when playing PvP. If I play like I would normally, I always lose the early game
