Otay

What does otay mean?

Okay

"Otay" is a cutesy, childish way of saying, "okay." People may use it in person, in texts, or online to communicate agreement, approval, acknowledgment, or acceptance.

The alternative pronunciation comes from little kids' inability to pronounce the "k" in the word. Also, Buckwheat from The Little Rascals helped popularize the saying, and Eddie Murphy also contributed when he played the adult version of Buckwheat on SNL.

While people are familiar with otay, you should probably only use it with friends, not your boss. For example, if your friend says they will pick up dinner, you can cutely reply with "Otay!"

Can you call me?
