Discussion of everything showers began trending on TikTok in early 2023. In November of that year, users started discussing the everything shower's opposite number - a shower in which a person rinses off to warm up, refresh themself, and/or think for a bit. Eventually, users dubbed this type of shower the nothing shower (because those taking a nothing shower do nothing but stand under the shower head).
